- Does BoxBack work if I don't have the original box?
- Yes. BoxBack cares about matching the return code to the actual item, not the packaging. Whether it ships back in the original box, a different box, or box-free at a store counter, you can still track the item, code, and drop-off details together.
- What if I lost the receipt or return screenshot?
- You can add a return manually with just the store, item, and deadline, then attach the code screenshot later if you find it. Note that a purchase receipt and a drop-off receipt are different things: BoxBack Plus can save a photo of the receipt you get after dropping off or shipping a return, so you have proof later if a refund is disputed.
- Does BoxBack work with Amazon, Target, Walmart, and other retailers?
- Yes. BoxBack works from the return screenshot, QR code, barcode, or label you already have, so it fits any retailer's return flow. There's no Amazon, Target, or Walmart account login required, and no retailer integration to set up.
- What's the difference between Free and BoxBack Plus?
- Free covers the core job on one iPhone: add returns from a screenshot or manually, snap an item photo, track drop-off or pickup details and deadlines, get reminders, and show a clean full-screen code at the counter. BoxBack Plus is a one-time upgrade that adds receipt proof after drop-off, iCloud sync across your devices, household sharing with up to 5 people, and multi-return receipts.
- Is my return data private?
- By default, BoxBack stores everything locally on your iPhone. If you turn on BoxBack Plus features like iCloud sync or household sharing, that data syncs through your own Apple iCloud account. BoxBack never asks you to log in to a retailer account, and MicroMacro Technology doesn't sell your data. See the full Privacy Policy for details.
- Can more than one person in my household use BoxBack?
- Yes, with household sharing. It gives up to 5 people a shared return list, so whoever's heading out the door can see what needs to go, claim a return, mark it dropped off, and add proof — no more guessing which item belongs to which code.
- Does BoxBack handle carrier pickups, not just store drop-offs?
- Yes. Returns can be tracked either way: a store or locker drop-off with a due date, or a carrier pickup (UPS, FedEx, and others) with a pickup date. Each gets its own reminders so nothing is missed.
- Is BoxBack available for Android?
- Not yet. BoxBack launches on iPhone first. Android support isn't ruled out, but it isn't part of the initial release.
